PRESS RELEASE: Force Protection Receives New Service and Support Orders

LADSON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 08, 2008--

Force Protection, Inc. (NASDAQ: FRPT) today announced that it has received a new contract modification for the service and support, including spare parts, of its Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles. This order modifies the M67854-07-D-5031 MRAP contract with Marine Corps Systems command to enable the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to place orders under that contract. Deliverables under the modification, which totals $69.5 million, are expected to run through 2009. This modification is subject to the company´s agreement with General Dynamics Land Systems providing for a share of the deliverables and the actual revenue split between the partners is to be determined.

Michael Moody, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Force Protection, commented, "We continue to see significant levels of service and support work for our fleet of vehicles and we remain pleased with the strong relationship we have developed with the United States Marine Corps, our largest customer. This modification builds upon our relationship with the Defense Logistics Agency to provide ongoing support to our vehicles in the field."

On vient de passer au dessus de 4$... mais ce n'est pas vraiment l'explosion.... c'est même très timide !

j'veux ben cette timidité tous les jours

Bref, si la prochaine R à 5$ (pas en ID mais plus costaude) saute, je reprendrais bien une chit' ligne

Bin oui spix, à condition de ne pas traîner trop longtemps dessus et sortir au plus vite.... car pour finir elle revient sagement vers les 4$.... donc elle reste assez timide cette hausse !

MM30 devient plate.

La MACD bidouillée est bien orientée mais sous sa ligne de signal.

Je persiste: passer 5 assez rapido avec un volume crescendo (passer du demi million à 2 puis 3 millions de titres échangés) constituerait un bon signal d'ha. Celà pour antant que les rsi ai le temps de se niveller en quittant la zone de surha qui ne devrait se manifester si on monte trop vite.

Shares of Force Protection Inc. (FRPT) fell over 6% Friday, a day after the maker of military vehicles preliminarily said a restatement of its 2007 results as a result of accounting errors will reflect net income "significantly lower" than the net income reported in 2006.

In addition, the company said weaknesses that led to the accounting errors in the 2007 results will likely be found to have led to errors in the company´s reported results this year too.

While the company said it expects to report net income more than quadrupled from the prior year, shareholders focused on the profit warning as well as the announcement that this year´s results were also likely plagued by accounting errors. Shares were recently down 6.1% to $3.98.

Force Protection said it will restate its financial results for the first two quarters of 2007, in addition to the third quarter it previously said it would be restating, as a result of an ongoing review by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company had previously disclosed that it had discovered accounting errors that include errors with recognizing the value of revenue, certain accrued liabilities, inventory and deferred taxes.

But Friday, Force Protection added that it doesn´t believe the material weaknesses that led to the errors in the 2007 statement will be remediated by Sept. 30. It warned the company´s quarterly results from the first three quarters of 2008 will therefore likely has similar "material weaknesses."

The company plans to file its 2007 results on or before Sept. 15. While net income is expected to be "significantly" below the $16.6 million recorded in 2006, Force Protection said it will also report net sales more than quadrupled to about $890 million. The company said the revenue growth was primarily due to contracts awarded under the U.S. military´s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program.
